What is Inception about?
Inception is a movie by director Christopher Nolan. The main character of the film is named Dom Cobb and is portrayed by Leonardo DiCaprio. This movie is also written and co-produced by Nolan. Released in 2010, this science fiction thriller made big money in the box office, not only in the US, but also in many countries around the globe.

In dictionaries, the term “inception” refers to some event that occurs at the start or something that points to the origin of a particular development or process. In the movie, the main plot revolves around the task of the main character to literally plant an idea into somebody else’s mind. This “inception” task was supposed to change the course of a business empire through the main subject of the inception plot.

DiCaprio’s character was presented as the best in the business of extracting ideas from the minds of target subjects. This method was widely used by several big businesses to gain an advantage over the others and to spy on the activities of other companies. In the movie, DiCaprio’s character, Dom Cobb, was tasked to do a reverse and instead of taking out an idea from someone else’s mind, he is asked to put or plant an idea into someone’s mind instead. The basic idea was to “brainwash” the son of a rich businessman in order for him to break up the company that his father built. And in order to do this, Cobb needed some help from other people so they could penetrate other people’s minds through a dream-like state, which is presented to appear that it exists at various levels. Cobb had to penetrate the subject’s mind at the deepest level in order for him to be successful in his inception task. To complicate the whole process, Cobb also has some issues of his own with regards to his dead wife. His wife sort of distracted him from his main task which made the story even more interesting. The movie ended to some confusion among viewers as it hinted that Cobb may not have been really successful in doing the inception task because he might still be in his own dream.
